Legacy

The Peretti Museum Foundation was established by the Peretti family in 2020 to curate and showcase Dr. Adolf Peretti’s scientific contributions to the gemological world, including his findings of gemstones, fossils, and other specimens he has passionately collected or described. These include the mineral Perettiite-(Y), which was named after him.

The Museum actively supports research and knowledge and provides a framework for expert collaboration and public access to valuable and extremely rare specimens for study and publication in academic (peer-reviewed) literature and other outlets. More than 2,000 specimens are housed and cataloged by the Museum, and this collection continues to grow with the support of loyal patrons and the international gemological community.

The Peretti Museum is dedicated to building an open and public museum ensuring that the gemological and other samples it houses will always be available for scientific examination and exploration.

The Museum is audited by an international board of scientific experts who review research projects and museum practices. The Peretti Museum Foundation promises ethical compliance in connection with the acquisition of material and supports charity projects in mining areas (#grshelps). It also has a research cooperation contract and Memorandum of Understanding with GRS Laboratories.

The Peretti Museum Foundation is officially incorporated and published by the Swiss government. See publications in the Swiss Official Gazette of Commerce and the Commercial Register of Canton Lucerne.
